Frequently Asked Questions
How can AmeriPlanUSA offer broad coverage at such low rates?

For several reasons: First, we keep administrative costs to a minimum. There are no claim forms to fill-out and there are no collections.
More importantly, health-care professionals have begun to realize the buying power of large groups (members) in the same way product manufacturers have at Sam's Club and Costco. These two organizations have taken advantage of the buying power of a large group - their members. At Sam's Club, members get quality name-brand goods and services at discount prices. Think of AmeriPlanUSA as the Sam's Club of health care.

Is this insurance?

No. AmeriPlanUSA is a "discount fee for services" plan; otherwise know as a "referral" plan. Unlike insurance, with AmeriPlan there are no deductibles, no waiting period, no claim forms, no age limits, and all pre-existing conditions (except braces in progress) are covered. Furthermore, AmeriPlanUSA does not reimburse our care providers.

What if I move? Am I still covered?

Yes. AmeriPlan has care providers in every State of the Union, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

What if I find that it is not for me?

There is a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. Use any benefit within 30 days of enrollment and if you are not completely satisfied, you may cancel your enrollment for a full membership refund. No questions asked.

I work in human resources for a medium-sized company that does not offer a dental plan. Can our employees join as a group?

Yes. AmeriPlan offers group policies to any company (or organization, profitable or non-profitable) of five members or more. Call 800-304-7505 for details.

Do I have to use one of AmeriPlan's care providers?

Yes. Remember, all of AmeriPlan's care providers are carefully screened. They are all licensed professionals with the credentials and experience necessary to provide quality health care to their patients. Furthermore, AmeriPlan has established an exemplary history of quality health care and is the only referral provider to be recommended by National Association of Optometrists. Over a million Ameriplan members attest everyday to the quality of our health care providers.

Is there a limit to the number of members covered under the family plan?
There is no limit, as long as everyone enrolled in the family plan lives at the same mailing address.

I have some dental health insurance provided by my employer now, but it is not very good. Can I use AmeriPlan too?

Yes. Many of our members use AmeriPlan as a supplement to the coverage they now have.

Going to the dentist makes me very nervous. I go to my dentist because he's gentle. He is not an AmeriPlan provider. What would you suggest?

There is a form for your dentist to request becoming an AmeriPlanUSA care provider. Let us know and we'll mail one to you. We understand that finding the right dentist is important to you (and to us.) That is why AmeriPlan has taken great care in selecting our providers. And with AmeriPlan, you may change dentists (or any care provider) as often as you like, without any penalty or extra cost. We know of members who tried several providers before finding one that met their expectations. With the growing number of care providers in our network, we're certain you will find one just right for you.

I understand that AmeriPlan offers a veterinary plan too. Is that so?

Our veterinary plan is not yet active. We expect it to be by the end of the year.

Do I have to go to the Internet to find all the care providers in my area?

No. All members receive a complete roster of all care providers in their area, including name, address, and phone number. This manual is updated annually.

I sell insurance. Can I offer AmeriPlan to my clients?

Yes. In fact many insurance agents have found AmeriPlanUSA offers advantages over the plans they now offer. Call 800-304-7505 for details.

Can I find out right now who are the AmeriPlan providers in my area?

Yes. Go to our home page and at the top, click on "Locate a Provider." You'll be taken to a page that asks for your mailing address. Only your zip code is required. Enter it, and from the drop-down box select the type of specialist you seek. Click on "Submit" and a list of providers will appear.

Can I enroll on-line?

Yes. Go to our home page, and at the top click on "Enroll On-Line." Follow the prompts.
